Homemade Body Wrapping

What is body wrapping?
It's a type of beauty treatment involving the application of skin detoxifying ingredients to the body, which is
then wrapped in a foil. It was mostly used in spas, but nowadays it is much cheaper to do it at home.

Benefits of body wrapping
Quick weight and cellulite loss
Great for people who are looking to lose a few inches for a special occasion like wedding or a night out. After the wrap up, your skin will appear
tighter or simmer, but you will only lose water weight, which will come back after the big occasion. Unfortunately, you won't get rid off cellulite for good either. There's no shortcuts. Exercise and good diet are a must if you want to get rid of cellulite and lose weight.

Skin detoxification
Body wraps that use algae, mud, seaweed or clay can detoxify the skin through metabolic stimulation

Exfoliation
Use scrub before the wraps and your skin will be exfoliated. Whether it's sugar or sea salt, you skin will get rid off dead cells on the surface of the skin.

Moisturizing and hydrating
When you use body wraps with shea butter or rich lotions, your body will be super softened and hydrated. Body wraps are always mega-moisturizing, so no matter what you use, applying heat will make it even more effective. Your skin will be left soft and hydrated.

Contraindications:

  • pregnancy
  • atherosclerosis
  • heart problems
  • high blood pressure
  • kidney problems
  • bad infections (like flu)
  • varicose veins
Ingredients
---> for a basic detoxifying body wrap:
  • 1 cup of salt ( sea, Epsom or mineral)
  • 3 cups of water ( spring or purified)
  • 1/2 cup of Aloe Vera
  • 3 tablespoons of oil ( Shea, Sunflower, Olive)
---> to treat stress or muscle aches:
  • Add 1-2 teaspoons of aromatherapy oil or essential oil.
  • Add chamomile or other herbal tea bag to the water while you are heating it
Instructions
Heat the water in a pot on medium heat, dissolve salt, add Aloe Vera and oil and stir to mix it all together. Remove from heat and allow to cool. You want the mixture warm but not enough to make burns, so make sure it's cool.
Rub this solution in the desired area ( thighs, belly, bum, arms) and apply the foil all around. Put some warm clothes on. What I usually do is wrap myself up in some blankets and watch my favourite series in bed. After at least one hour, rinse it off and apply some moisturizer. Make sure to drink a lot of water during the day to allow the toxins to be removed from your system. Don't repeat this treatment for more than 4 days a week.

There are many different home recipes. You can find them online.

So have any of you ever tried body wrapping??

Have a nice day x
Emka
